We got back this evening from visiting my dad and step-mom in Ogden for a night. It was so nice to be able to relax and have some space for Claire to run around. She loves running around with "grandma donna" and has figured out how to get just about whatever she wants. She has her grandparents wrapped around her little finger. Donna got out all of her old barbies, and she and Claire had a great time dressing them up. Claire was really disappointed when we left, and after crying for a little bit, she told Chris that she would mind him. I think she thought that we left because she was being naughty. We felt so bad!

My dad pulled out a baby picture of himself last night, and I was completely shocked how much Elijah looks like my dad as a baby. It was almost as if I was looking at a picture of Elijah. I think it made dad really proud to see that. Elijah took a liking to my dad, and I could tell that made him feel good. Claire seems to like to keep her distance from him, even though she talks about him whenever we're not there.

We looked at a different basement apartment yesterday that is almost double the size of our current place. We both really liked it, and it was so spacious. The people who owned it (and lived upstairs) were pretty close to our age, and had a daughter close to Claire's age. Claire and their daughter hit it off right away when we were looking at the apartment. But after leaving, Chris and I just couldn't get excited about it. We really like it, but in our gut we just knew it wasn't the right place. It made me so sad to call and tell them we weren't going to take it. I so badly want a bigger place. I feel soo cramped in our current place, and it's so hard sharing a room with Elijah. I'll keep my eyes open for something else, but I have a feeling we'll be here until Chris graduates next year.
