Chris and I and the kids went to Indiana for Thanksgiving. We got there on Sunday and stayed until Saturday morning. I don't know how many of you knew that Chris's grandma had had a bad fall a few months ago and ended up paralyzed from the neck down. She has been on a ventilator most of the time (there was a short time they had her off of it full-time, but a bad infection put her back in ICU and on the ventilator last month). She was not doing any better and doctors said she would never be able to come off the ventilator again. She made the decision that she wanted the ventilator turned off, and they turned it off on Sunday night last week. Chris was able to see her and visit with her for the first time since the accident before they turned it off. It was really sweet. Before we got there, she had her daughter (chris's aunt) do her hair and make-up for her because she wanted to look her best before Chris saw her. She lived for almost 24 hours after the ventilator was turned off; she died surrounded by 5 of her 6 children (only one of them lived outside of Indiana). She was an incredible woman who touched so many people. We were able to go to her viewing, but we were scheduled to fly out on Saturday morning which was the day of the funeral. We will miss her so much, but we are relieved to know she isn't suffering anymore. Here is a link to her obituary:

We got home on saturday morning. Claire was in tears as we left. She was so upset that she had to leave her grandma behind. Claire and her grandma have a very special bond. But it feels good to be home. I can't believe Christmas is less than a month away. I have so much to do!

Kind of weird, but humor me and try it!
Okay, so I'm sure many of you have heard about the string trick that predicts how many children (and what sex) you will have. I remember doing it years ago before I was ever married, and I don't remember the results. But a friend had me try it, and it was correct for my first 2 (who knows about the rest, lol). No matter how many times I've tried it, it has been the same. I tried it on Chris, and his was identical to mine. So, many of my friends have tried this, and it's creepy how many of them are right. So humor me and try this. Comment and tell me what the results are and if they are right.
My results were: Girl, Boy, Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl
Here are the Instructions:
What you will need:
thin necklace or thread will work just fine.
A ring that has a little weight to it. Material doesn’t matter, or even a round flat washer will work.
Flat surface.
I will give you instructions as if you are doing this on yourself but same technique is used when doing it on other people.
Thread the ring with the necklace etc. Holding the unclasped necklace with your thumb and pointer finger so it can move freely.
Lay your wrist palm side up on a flat surface “table, washing machine, car, etc”
Dangle the ring over your wrist without touching but still close to your wrist . I always have my other elbow resting firmly on the table while doing this. Do not move either arm until this is done.
What will happen next.
The ring should start making a circular motion. Above your wrist, yes you are doing it right. Sometimes it may do this for several seconds.
Then you will notice it will start going in a certain direction “ either “ swinging across your wrist which means a GIRL or from elbow to fingertip which means a BOY. Sometimes it will swing for quite a few seconds
Ok so lets say yours went across your wrist from left to right, right to left either way it’s a GIRL.. ok keep holding it very still and if you are having another baby it will start making that circle motion again like it did in the beginning .
Each time it starts a new circle it means another baby… so lets say this time it goes up and down your wrist.. Ok that means a BOY.
You keep doing this process until the ring comes to a almost complete stop and sometimes will just hang and bob a little.
That’s all there is to it! It will not only say the sex of your children but even the order you would have them.
Now I must tell you this as I feel it is only right but it does show all miscarriages, abortions or still births.
So keep that in mind if you have already had a couple children and lets just say you had 2 miscarriages at some point and are now doing this.
Keep in mind that what ever the birth order showed you while doing this will show the babies you lost.
So you have lost 2 and your test shows Girl, Girl, Boy, Boy, you would know that your next baby would be a boy since you already had/lost the first 2.
This is all there is to it and it really does work! Not sure how it works but it does. You can do it on anyone at any age too!

Our Halloween
The kids had a great time, and it was an exhausting day for me! We took the kids to my sister-in-law's work (an assisted living facility) and they trick-or-treated there first. Then we took them over to my mom's house, had some pizza, and then took them to a few more houses in her neighborhood. Needless to say, the kids have been on a sugar high all weekend! Little do they know that by Monday morning, the candy will be disappearing FOREVER! Here are the pictures from our halloween and a few from last weekend when we went to Boo at the Zoo.
