We have been on vacation for the last week visiting Chris's parents in Indiana. We are here for a couple more days. The flight out here was not fun. Traveling with small children is not easy. Part of me thinks it would have been easier driving. For our first flight, they had me, chris and Claire all sitting in different seats. When I asked them at the gate if we could get two of the seats together so my 3 year old wasn't sitting by herself, they told me there was nothing that they could do because the flight was full, and that I would have to find someone once we boarded that was willing to switch with me. When I asked the two ladies who were sitting next to Claire's assigned seat if they would be willing to switch so Claire wouldn't have to sit away from Chris and me, they flat out refused. I couldn't believe it. If I didn't think it would traumatize Claire, I wanted to say "Okay then, well, here's my daughter. I'll be up there on row 16 if you need me." I would have loved to see the looks on their faces. Luckily I found someone else that was more than willing to help us out.
Anyways, Claire is in heaven. She adores her grandparents--but especially her grandma. She has told her grandma several times that she wants her to move to her house, and that she could bring her presents :)
Elijah doesn't know quite what to think about his Grandpa. When we first got here, he would cry if his grandpa was in the same room as him. Now we gotten to where he can be in the same room, but not too close :) He like Grandma much better, lol.
Elijah is officially walking now. He had taken his first steps a few weeks ago, but he is now walking more than he is crawling. It is so cute watching him toddle around. I can't believe my baby is old enough to walk! His two top teeth finally poked through this week, and he is now finally sleeping better. I think his mouth was pretty tender, so he was waking pretty frequently. He gave me an almost 8 hour stretch without waking up. I woke up this morning feeling like a new woman! I don't think I've had that much consecutive sleep in months! I'm crossing my fingers that tonight is even better.
We are heading to the Indianapolis zoo tomorrow morning. Claire is pretty excited. She told me she can't wait to see the Dolphin show and the mermaids. Also, she told me her favorite animals are Hippos and Unicorns. :)
Chris and I are enjoying being able to relax while we're out here, and we're going to try and sneak away this weekend and see the new Indiana Jones movie. We haven't seen a movie in the theater in ages. I think everything will be okay as long as we don't leave Elijah with Grandpa :)

I hope you get a picture of Claire with the Unicorn. :)
Sounds like a lot of fun. I hope your return home isn't as difficult :). That would be aweful not being able to sit next to Claire!
Fun vacation! That is so terrible that those ladies wouldn't do it. How rude are people?! Both my kids can't stand to have my dad even near them, Emily didn't get over it until she was 3 and she saw him nearly every weekend. Now they don't see him much, but Lindsey is scared of him. Walking already, wow! He is getting big. And great that he is starting to sleep through the night. Have fun on vacation!
Jeanette, glad to hear you are having a nice vacation (except for the flight)! Can't wait to see Elijah walking. Love ya, Jen
